THINGS TO KNOW
You can choose your puppy when he or she is seven weeks old. We wait until seven weeks to do puppy picks because it gives our puppies time to mature. Once our puppies are seven weeks old we will have a better idea of coat type, temperament, and size. Choosing puppies is done via video call. We will provide recommendations to you based on your preferred coat type, size, temperament, and the puppies we feel would best suit your lifestyle, however we do not ever force families to choose a certain puppy. We want you to be happy with your new family member, so ultimately the puppy you choose is your choice!
Please keep in mind: If we are considering keeping one or more puppies from a litter, we may delay puppy picks for a short period of time while we assess temperament and structure.
There are a few reasons why we don't allow families to choose their puppy in person. Puppies are very vulnerable, especially before they are vaccinated. We take every precaution we can to protect our puppies from deadly viruses such as Parvo and Distemper. Visitors can easily (and unknowingly) bring disease with them. We also aren't a kennel, so our puppies are raised in our home. For security reasons we don't allow people into our home. We are happy to schedule a video call with you so you can see where our puppies are raised. We also have active social media pages where you can watch our puppies grow and see their parents. We do puppy pickups in the park right in front of our location, so you will be able to see our property.
Typically you would only be able to meet the mother of our dogs since she will be here raising her litter. The father of our litters live in guardian homes, so the only way to see the father would be through our social media page where we have plenty of videos and photos. Meeting the mom is generally only available on the scheduled pickup day. This is out of respect for our guardian families. Please let us know ahead of time if you would like to meet your puppy's mother when you pickup your puppy. Please keep in mind that we are not able to offer meet and greets for the father.
Puppy pickups are done after the puppies turn 8 weeks old. We will send you an email announcing the official pickup day well before puppy picks are made. If you can't accommodate the official pickup day, we will make other arrangements with you. Please keep in mind that you may not be able to meet your puppy's mother if you don't pickup on the official pickup day.
Payment is due in full on pickup day or at 9 weeks, whichever comes first. There is also a $50 fee for every day your puppy stays with us past the scheduled pickup day. If you do not arrange for pickup by the time your puppy is 10 weeks old we will place your puppy with another family and any money paid will be forfeit.
Pickups are done at the park directly in front of our property. Please do not bring your personal pets, or anyone other then immediate family.
It is very important that you are on time for your appointment on puppy pickup day. We have a very tight schedule and might not be able to accommodate you if you are late. We often have multiple puppies going home on the same day, it isn't fair to other families if you are late and infringe on their pickup appointment. There is also a lot of important information that we need to go over with you on pickup day. If you are late for your pickup appointment, we will have to move your time slot as the last family picking up their puppy. Please keep in mind if we move you to the end of your pickup appointment list, you may wait up to 4 hours for us to complete the 30 minute time slots ahead of you. For privacy reasons, we will ask you to wait for your timeslot to come up in your car or at a distance while we meet with other families.
Once you pay your $200 deposit, you are guaranteed a spot on our puppy litter list where we allow you to choose your puppy in the order that each deposit is received. After you have made your deposit, we will continue to keep you updated with photos and videos via email or you can track our social media pages.
Your $200 deposit must be paid via e-transfer and the remaining cost of the puppy must be paid in cash when you come to pick up your puppy.
Yes! You can start to make non-refundable weekly payments via e-transfer for your puppy once they are one week old. These weekly payments must be paid in full once your puppy is 8 weeks old. As a result of failure to pay, once your puppy is 9 weeks old we will offer your puppy to another family and your payments will be moved to a puppy from a future litter. Please keep in mind the price of our litters will increase overtime and if your payments are moved to a future litter, we will require you to also pay additional fees to match the increased fee of our puppy litter.
Your Chosen Companion Doodle puppy will get a veterinarian examination, de-worming, the first round of vaccinations and their health documentation.
We will also put together a branded tote bag filled with goodies inside for your puppy, the buyer contract signed by both of us and information pamphlets.
We vet each of our families to ensure they are established, can provide a safe home and have been planning to welcome a puppy into their family. If a family’s situation changes, your dog must be returned to Chosen Companion Doodles. We do not provide any refunds once a dog is returned to us due to you no longer being able to provide care for your dog. We will provide veterinary care for any dog returned to us and keep the dog in our household until we are able to find the dog a new forever family.
